The album, "Live in Jerusalem," was recorded at the Yellow Submarine
in the year 2000.
Dov and his Zion Square Band were very successful in creating an
amazing live album despite using no strict format, or sheet music. Each
musician was left to create his own improvisation and the creative process
turned out a charm of an album. There are thirteen songs, including eleven
that were never before recorded. Hits include the beautiful, "Song of
Ruth, which are the words of Ruth to her mother -in -law, Naomi, inserted into
an original tasty tune, created in memory of Dov's cousin Rus Elisheva
z'l, who was killed in a tragic boating accident early in her life.
Another hit song, Me Aifo Hu, is a seven minute reggae style nigun,
the words of Father Yitzchok to his son Esau, after Yaakov received the
blessing. The song is original and unforgettable, and the band goes beyond
itself with solos coming spontaneously from the heart of each player. This
album, although costing less to produce, stands in a equal position with
Dov's more elaborate and expensive productions.
